The GROW Model diagram is a systematic and structured way of coaching people. It is used to help the person identify their goals, obstacles, and next steps. The GROW Model consists of four questions that are asked in a sequential process. The first question is “What are you trying to accomplish?” The second question is “What’s getting in your way?” Third, “What have you done so far to try to overcome these obstacles?” Finally, the fourth question is “Have you thought about what would be really helpful for you?” The coach can stop at any point during the process if they feel like it has been completed or if they feel like there are no more questions that need to be answered.
