Coaching Models

Coaching models are very important because they outline the process that coaches should follow to help their clients. The coaching models will also provide a framework for the coach to develop and provide guidance for the client. The coaching process consists of three phases: pre-coaching, coaching, and post-coaching. Pre-coaching is an initial meeting between the coach and the client where both parties discuss expectations and goals. This is followed by a session with the coach where he/she discusses what can be done to achieve these goals. Lastly, post-coaching is when both parties review what was accomplished during this time period, discuss any obstacles that may have come up, and plan out what needs to be done in order to continue achieving goals. Coaching is a process that helps people to improve their skills, and often includes the development of new skills. Coaches are typically experts in a particular field, or sometimes just people who have been there before.
