Goals are typically expressed as an objective or desired result to be achieved within a specified time frame. In the 20th century, goal management has been used in the military, business, and sports. In the 21st century, goal management has expanded to many other fields such as education and politics. The OKR system was developed by Intel in the 1980s. It is a goal-setting system that uses three questions: What are we trying to achieve? How will we know when we have achieved it? What will be our key results (KPIs) for this quarter?
