It is an essential part of any business and it can be defined as a process that integrates supply, production, and distribution activities in order to meet customer demand. The goal of SCM is to maximize customer satisfaction by providing the right products or services at the right time at the right cost. The supply chain management functions are: Designing Supply Chain Systems, Inventory Management, Logistics Management, Production Planning & Control, Distribution Planning & Control, Customer Service & Satisfaction. A supply chain is the series of organizations, people, activities, information and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to customer. Supply chain management (SCM) is the process of managing all aspects of the supply chain including planning and forecasting demand, procurement, production, distribution and inventory control.
